I am the director and teacher at Discovery Place Preschool, which is an Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) in Stanwood, WA. I also teach classes for Purdue University Global (Purdue's online degree program) in the Early Childhood Department. I have been teaching preschool for over 13 years and teaching college classes for more than 15 years. I like to teach both college classes and preschool classes simultaneously so I can put into practice during the day the skills I teach college students in the evenings. This combination of teaching both young children and college students allows me to stay up-to-date on research-based teaching methods. I am also a state-approved trainer for the state of Washington, educating childcare providers on early childhood education topics. I also tutor K - 2nd grade students on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
